![]() ![]() If you only need to measure, monitor, and log SPL: Smaart Di v2 is a great choice for system tuning (transfer function) work using a single microphone position at a time. It does not offer the Impulse Response mode acoustic analysis functions, or advanced SPL metering and logging functions. Smaart Di v2 is a stripped-down version of Smaart that offers the same Spectrum and Transfer Function measurement capabilities as Smaart v8, but it can only support a single I/O device, and two inputs at a time. If you only need real-time measurement capabilities: Smaart v8 can access input signals from multiple IO devices, and there is no software-imposed limitation on the number input signals you can work with in the software simultaneously, or how many measurement engines you can run at once – as many as your computer and hardware can accommodate. It includes our full measurement toolsets for Real Time, Impulse Response and SPL measurements. Smaart v8 is the full-featured, multi-channel version of Smaart. If you want to perform measurement work that falls into all three categories: ![]() SPL measurements are also used to monitor and characterize sound exposure and nuisance noise concerns, and to comply with sound level regulations. SPL (Sound Pressure Level) measures the strength of sound waves in air and is a popular tool for mix engineers to ensure consistent levels over time as a type of “quality control” for the audience. ![]()
